Can priest wear a cooling vest under Mass vestments?

Last Sunday the church was hotter than usual (hot day, late Mass, no air conditioning) and the priest looked slightly unwell due to the heat. He made it through the Mass without a medical emergency but still it caused me to wonder if a priest could wear a cooling garment under his regular vestments. Here is an example of one that uses real ice in sealed packets, but similar vests are made that use other cooling methods:

Why wouldn’t it be? Our last pastor was born with some condition that makes it impossible for him to sweat. That meant that he was always at risk of overheating in a medically dangerous way. A cooling vest like that could be a real help for that wonderful and holy priest. 😃

My spouse being a Lutheran Pastor has albs. I can authoritatively confirm they are heavy, think, and hot.
 
They also have more discrete cooling vests for cosplayers and performers. This vast has really been a big help for me and my friends in the Rebel and 501st Legions (Star Wars costume charity organization)! You can’t even tell you’re wearing a vest underneath!

I don’t see why as a priest you couldn’t also use this cooling vest as well!

No. Priests must put a cardigan over the turtleneck they wear of their long-sleeved black shirt. This is to prevent people from getting thoughts about what’s under the vestments.
Now that I got that out, I’ll be serious. I would, like the others, think it’s perfectly permitted. I remember Edward_george1 once saying he wore shorts underneath. I’ve also sometimes seen the priest before Mass and while most are in the black shirt with a clerical collar. I’ve seen some where their clothing was like that of the congregants.
