Can protestants go to Heaven?

  I am Catholic and have many protestant friends in college. I would like to know if these God-fearing, Jesus-loving protestants (Baptist) can go to Heaven, without becoming Catholic converts? I would love to understand the Catholic teaching on this, and help them understand, so I may explain it to them. God bless. TC
