Can Saints change earthly things?

A lot of people I know like to thank dead people for the sunshine that day or guiding them through the first day of school, but I know saints can ask god to make this happen and it would be right to thank them but can saints actually make the sunshine or can’t only god do things like that?

Saints can petition God in behalf of the people on earth. So its God who makes all things possible.

Things are done according to God’s will. It is up to God alone to give gifts to whoever He wills. Saints can ask, but if what is being asked is not in God’s plan it will never happen.

Also, don’t forget that saints in Heaven are better at being members of the Body of Christ than we here on earth are. Talking to a Christian here is already talking to Christ in some fashion. Talking to a saint up in Heaven pretty much is talking to Christ – a little Christ, a little body part of Christ’s Body, someone totally united with Christ without losing anything of themselves except sin and the wish to sin.

Anyway… Jesus promises that anyone who overcomes (ie, those folks who get to Heaven at some point) will sit on a throne and rule the nations with an iron rod, which sorta sounds like saints do stuff. (And there’s other promises too, of course.)
