From what I understand as a Catholic is that we are constantly working out our salvation over time and our salvation is similar to a race, we will not have it until we cross the finish line. The state that we are in when we cross the finish line is complete denial of self and we become like Christ. So basically if we were to reach that point we would be a saint. So would it be safe to say that once we reach that point of complete self-denial we cannot lose it? Or once we reach that state of being completely Christ-like can we lose it? In short my question is this: “If there is a saint who has reached a state of complete self-denial, is completely Christ-like and has performed miracles, can that saint cease being holy and lose his salvation?”
