This is not correct. None of our thoughts come from Satan but they do come from our fallen nature and Satan uses our fallen nature to plant seeds of disbelief or so other malicious desire. It is important to know that all of our thoughts are our own.
What’s incorrect about it? Where does our fallen nature come from besides satan? It certainly doesn’t come from God. Satan is always there planting those seeds (evil thoughts). You seem to be just trying to play semantics.

Just my opinion that since some of our thoughts come from satan, surely he must know what they are and whether we are entertaining or rejecting them.
I’m with you. The devil knows every one of our weaknesses. Think about when you start to think about sinning. Even if the devil didn’t put the original thought there, then you start to make arguments about why you should go ahead and sin. The devil definitely has some inside knowledge.

As much as I hate the idea of it, I think Satan can and does know our thoughts.

Wow … our fallen nature comes directly from us as a result of the fall. Satan just helps us fall further away from God.

I don’t think scripture anywhere indictates that Satan can read your mind the way God can.

No, I don’t think he can the way God can.

But if “Satan just helps us fall further away from God”, he’s got to first know when we’re contemplating sinning. Our sins are by all means completely our own fault, but Satan really does play with our minds to help us along. :banghead:

I seem to remember Frank Sheed in his book Theology for Beginners, believed that angels can actually read our thoughts. It’s been about 3 years since I read it though, so I may be wrong on this point. I’ve lost my copy so I can’t check, so if anyone else has it, is this accurate?
I looked through every reference to angels in that book, and I didn’t see anything about them being able to read our minds. What I think happens is that, although they can’t read our minds, they are intelligent enough to discern what we are thinking to some degree of accuracy. They observe us and know when we sin, so it’s relatively easy for the fallen angels to figure out the best ways to tempt us.
As far as angels/saints being able to hear us differently if we pray aloud or mentally. Angels don’t have bodies, and neither do the saints in heaven until the resurrection of the body (except for Mary, Enoch, and Elijah). Our ability to hear audibly is a physical trait, so a saint or angel without a body would still need God to reveal to the angel or saint what was said aloud. The symbolism of praying aloud to indicate that only God knows our hearts may be useful, but I don’t see any reason why an angel or saint should be able to hear audible prayers but not mental prayers.

Dear friend

:clapping: Excellent post. No evil spirit or satan can read our minds Period. Only God can search the hearts and minds of His children.

The Saints and Angels hear our prayers because God wills it and it doesn’t matter whether they are said vocally or mentally. Period.

Well said Grace and Glory.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa
