A few weeks back I dreamed the weirdest dream and it hasn’t left me. I was traveling with my dad, who was driving and we were trying to escape an oncoming tornado. Just then my father turned and was driving toward the tornado’s funnel cloud and then a BRIGHT, and I mean BRIGHT light began to illuminate from the funnel. It was weird. The storm didn’t lose it’s power or fury and the light, while looking warm and inviting, was really scaring me. I was begging him to turn the other way but he would not listen. Kept telling me everything was fine.

My dad is a protestant and I’m Catholic. I haven’t told him of the dream. Any takers?

Hard to say much without knowing you or him.

Is he a risk taker? Storm chaser?🙂

I dont know if your a practicing catholic but it could mean a couple of things. #1, You are afraid of death and cannot accept it just yet or #2, your faith is not strong yet in Christ and you have many doubts. But its funny because I have many dreams of twisters

I by no means am a dream interpreter, but the first thing I thought of when I read this was that God is preparing you for a rough storm ahead in your life and assuring you that you will not be alone. Someone else will be leading you (your dad was driving instead of you) and even at it’s worst you will see the light at the end of the tunnel (or funnel I guess).

Do you and your dad have a good relationship? If not, maybe you are being called towards reconciliation. Or maybe your dad is your hero and therefore would be the ideal person to travel a storm in life with. He is telling you to hold it steady and stay the course no matter how bad things get. It will work out fine in the end. Or maybe since your dad is a non-Catholic, maybe a desire for his conversion is tugging at your soul and this dream is reassuring you that the bumps in that road will end in God’s hands.

Like I said I have never attempted to interpret dreams before so this is all just my opinion and probably nonsense. For whatever reason, though, this dream seemed to speak to me in this way. I think this dream is a preparation for what lies ahead, it will be very hard and frightening, but also reassurance that it will end beautifully.

  1. I am a practicing catholic
  2. who isn’t afraid of death
  3. I have faith, not perfect faith, but faith; you could hold a gun to my head and tell me to renounce Christ and I would tell you to pull the trigger. Now all of the OTHER stuff, at times, leaves me confused.

Interesting and thanks!

Sounds to me like your sub-conscience is trying to tell you something, my theory is that you feel that there is trouble brewing between you and your dad. You expect him to lead you and keep you out of trouble, but deep down you don’t trust him. Maybe it’s because of the difference in religion, I’m not sure but it does look like you suspect that he is leading you into trouble and don’t want to face it.

The light inside the tornado is that you’re believe that something is not what it seems or too good to be true. It definitely sounds like something you’re not admitting to yourself. Also, because you’re the one in the passengers seat, you feel like things are out of your control and your Dad is assuring you that you don’t alway need to be in charge and it frightens you to let him or anyone else be in charge.

Does that sound right? Hope this helps.

Me and my dad get along for the most part. I owe him money, but he has been generous as to not push for repayment due to other obligations I have. He is always helping me and generally speaking, we are closer at this time in our life than we have ever been IMO.

My father, while being protestant, very much respects my decision to be catholic and has even attended a few Masses over the years. I would VERY MUCH love for he and my mother to convert, but I never see that happening. That being said, I do thank you all. We’ll see how life turns out. PAX CHRISTI!

It is a warning dream. Your dad needs prayer to gain discernment.

Tornadoes are chastisements.

Does your dad believe in the false teaching known as the rapture?
