Can somebody explain to me what is going on in this Christian video?

I believe his mother is Turkish and his father is Palestinian or something like that and he was born in Israel but moved to Canada as a youngster. It is on his website.

The you-tube thing is just a sensational bit of ridicule, I have seen his shows and it is never that dramatic. I agree he has some odd ideas, but he does seem sincere to me. He seems to me to have a certain naivete about him–like he could get suckered in by the likes of himself very easily, he has alot of respect for older and wiser preachers of his ilk. So I reserve my personal judgment and keep my pocketbook closed.

He does have a brother who is also a healer. Do a Google. I do not think in the American Evangelical movement he is considered any worse than anyone else. He is one of the new Prosperity Preachers, but atleast he gives entertainment in return, so many of the others are just greedy and offer nothing in return.

In all fairness, Hinn has recanted his Trinitarian errors. I think they were due to abysmal theological ignorance and crudity rather than to deliberate heresy. And I give the man credit for admitting that he was wrong.

Sincerity is hardly the issue here.

Taking a non-Trinitarian belief add to it false predictions what do you get?

I think you know the comparison I am making here.😉

He can not be called a Christian.

That is good to know.

Has he commented on any of the prophecies he made that did not happen? I have not read anything from him on this, only his critics.

What is his current belief on the Trinity?
 
I remember seein one show where he was healing folks and it was in a primarily Catholic nation–IDK maybe Argentina or Brazil?–and a woman was healed and she called him ‘father’ and he asked her if she was Catholic and she said yes, and he said ‘call me brother—the Catholics get healed the easiest!’ LOL

everytime I went to read the book I couldnt bring myself to do it. I guess Id like to say the “jurys out” on Benny for me, but I suspect hes not what we think him to be. I dont know if I can say its the work of satan, Id have to look at it more closely.

The whole subject is on that shelf for me, Im sure theres healings but I think those healed dont speak about it. And perhaps God doesnt want healings on tv so He doenst let them last, Dont know for sure, Im trying to be fair, although I look at these things with a real skeptical eye.

But if hes made a prophecy and its not true, Im there with my pail 😃 just kidding, Im not tossing the first one, seen where that went.

ps to Hellisreal yea this is another catagory with the other in my hang ups 😃 It has to do with my previous beliefs and things of “superstious” natures I need to stay away from. Its hard when stuff comes in in christian contexts, healing, signs, wonders etc. I did some surfing last nite will pm ya later.

No, not at all. I’ve been a Catholic for 58 years and have never seen anything is odd or rediculous.

By the way what you see is not happening in a Church. It’s happening in someplace like a convention center. This guy wants a lot of people to show up so he can fleece them for their cash.

Based on his beliefs he is not even a Christian.

I will try to find for you the Catholic Charasmatic renewal sources on that.

I am not to knowledgable about it, its not my spirituality, but I will do my best to get something. I know there are many good sources of information for this but I dont have them at my fingertips.

There are a lot of posters here that do know this area very well.

It’s not a ritual. It just happens when someone prays for you sometimes or even at other times, and the purpose is to spend time close to God. It is sometimes accompanied by physical healing and sometimes just leaves the person with a feeling of comfort and increased energy and focus, but it is often sought out by people who are struggling with a habit or other problem, or who want to know what God wants them to do, and other crises.
 
The music that goes along with video makes it particularily funny to watch, although this type of behavior strikes me as almost demonic in nature. I have seen Benny Hinn in action before (before we cancelled cable) and other evangelical preachers displaying the same type of theatrics on TV -and then they ask for money.:rolleyes:

Unfortunately for Mr. Hinn and others like him, they will answer to God for this type of manipulation.

My bestfriend was raised pentecostal and when we were kids I went to church a few times. I didn’t see anything quite as dramatic but there was a lot of babelling and falling to the floor going on, as well as declaring people healed. Quite an experience for a quiet 13 year old Catholic girl. I thought it was a bunch of huey. People were being emotionally manipulated and imitating those around them.:hypno:

Some people are genuine and some just perform.

I didnt mind the services but the 45 min of praise choruses was tireing. And for people who wanted no rules they had alot. :rolleyes: my friend eventually went somewhere else.

I dont think they are necessarily “wrong” just have different ideas about whats important.

And the stuff on you tube is not a “regular” service, people come there specifically for healing. So no they are not all like that.
 
This fella would be awesome in the U.F.C, now this is some serious MMA talent. Hardly touches the guy and blamo…out for the count!
