Can someone expalin 1 corinthians 11:14-15?

I doubt this is to be taken literally, as it’s often assumed that Jesus had long hair. Can someone explain it to me?

It seems obvious from what Paul writes that men did not generally wear hair long. The exception is one who took a Nazarite vow, like Samson, and probably John the Baptist. Because Jesus was from Nazareth, it may have been assumed that he was a Nazarite, but this is uncertain.
It does point out, however, why the Church still asks women to cover their heads at the liturgies where their glory, their hair that they are so concerned about, is hidden so that all glory be given to God.

I believe the answer you are looking for is that “long hair” here in meant Lonnnnnnnnng hair…like a woman may wear.

What Jesus etc may have had would not be that* kind of long*…you know the way we normally picture him…

According to the Navarre Bible Commentary Saint Paul is merely appealing to cultural norms in order to emphasize the need to dress in a modest fashion.

How long? And you know this because… ? Actually, I brlieve that there certainly may be doubt about it. Is there doubt about His followers (“Chances are…”)? And why mainly Peter?

Jesus must have had long hair. I can’t find a single instance in scripture where it says He went to a barber. Sorry, I was just applying the same logic that Baptist use to deny infant baptism.

I just looked it up in my “New Jerome Biblical Commentary”. I’m not sure I should post what it says. I certainly do not want to offend anyone.

Basically it says Paul was saying men should look like men and women like women.
