What does this prove? Well it proves nothing other than the fact there will always be extremists. Like every other religion in the world most Muslims are nominal followers and just want to live their lives like everyone else. When we start attacking whole groups of people (nearly a billion strong BTW) with a few news stories of extremist actions we become bigots. This line of reasoning is the same as used by American neo-Nazis, which makes you the same as they are. If that’s a fact you find discomforting then maybe it’s time to look at your world view.

I’ve probably forgotten more about Muslim mistreatment of Christians than you know. And frankly there have been no shortage of Jews attacking Christians, spiting on priests during processions, or defacing and destorying Christian property. I’m not a fan of Islam by any means, it is a violent religion and has been since Mohammed lead his armies. That doesn’t justify Zionism, or any other form of ethnic superority ideology. Nor does it excuse how Jews have behaved, nobody has clean hands. However, let’s look at who’s welcome to join this group you think so much of:

Based on census at the time, the most that could have become refugees was 650,000. A UN Mediator on Palestine calculated that only about 360,000 Arab refugees required aid.
And of course there are the Jews that had to flee arab countries. About twice the number of Palestinians that left.
The topic of Jews who fled (or were expelled) from arab countries is seldom mentioned. They are the forgotten it seems. About a million jews were expelled. The arab countries confiscated their property. In some cases and in Demascas the Jewish getto was given to Palestinian Muslim refuges to include schools, homes etc.
There are many items on the negotiation table to settle the issue of Israel. One of them is that these Arab Jews want compensation for what was taken from them. This is reasonable. Right now, about 50% of the Jews in Israel are those who were expelled and their descendents.
There are victims on all sides. But the Jews have a huge disadvantage they have been hated and subjugate by Muslims from the day of Muhammad. They are a tiny country surrounded by millions of people who hate them and want them dead. When was the last time anyone heard a Muslim acknowledge the harm done to these jews?

Through out history governments have acquired and given away land for different purposes. The single most common way to acquire land was through war… and this is exactly how the Muslims came to control Palestine, the Jews lands around Medina, etc. They held on to these lands by being ‘benevolant’ subjugators of the original Jewish and Christian population. For centuries the Jews in the Middle East lived under the tumb of Muslim rulers (the Christians did and still do). In a day and age when most of the world believes that people have the right to self determination, seems to me that the jews have the right to move to one territory and decide how to govern themselves. Makes sense to me that there should be at least one Jewish nation in the Middle East and at least on Christian nation. That way these groups can finally be free of Islamic oppression. Israel already exists. Lebanon would be the best choice for a Christian nation… millions of Lebanese Christians living in exile will be happy to finally return home and rebuild homelands… There are members of my family who dream of this.

With this ownership came the responsibility of transforming the land into a beautiful and fertile area that would be a suitable home for the new state.

You are right… land ‘theft’ is not the issue. The issue is that Muhammad told the Muslims that they are to subjigate the Jews and Christians. It is a huge ego blow to the Muslim Arabs that their surfs… the jews now have their own country. This is not supposed to happen, they are supposed to control the Jews.
