I do not think that it is a good idea to ask others to interpret this dream.
You asked God to give you some insight. If this is His reply, then it is up to you to prayerfully seek from Him the insight it is intended to supply. It is not up to others to potentially muddy the waters with their ideas…
For me, as long as I understand that interpreting dreams is only an exercise of the imagination and not some sort of mandate or signal that must be decoded, I think it can be helpful. That is, it is helpful for me, and out of my respect for you and your comments, I won’t confer that to the OP automatically or in general without warning.
Especially on things that are mysterious, I love to hear what other people’s imaginations come up with, given some of the same triggering ideas. But yes, that’s what it is their imaginations; I don’t know of any “definitive” mapping from dream life to “what it means” that is consistent among dreamers or within one dreamer over time.
Sometimes when others offer me their points of view on things that have “no right answer” it helps open something up in me. Whether it be dreams or someone else’s take on something that makes sense to me one way but turns out makes sense to someone else’s.
If I’m looking for answers or spiritual direction, I’ll talk to my pastor. But on the Internet I like to draw many opinions. That’s one of the greatest advantages. I can present my dream as a work of imaginary scribble-art to see what they say. Kind of hearing many reactions to the same scripture in some ways of practicing Lectio Divina, except I don’t take my dream to be scripture.
I recognize your warning though: if we look with the idea that we are going to “figure this out” or that it is telling us something “we need to know” then IMO we’re crossing over into the superstitious and risk mistaking something that isn’t meaningful or salient to my spiritual life and treating it like it is (kind of like an idol), then we’re on an academic head-cramming exercise that will likely lead to nowhere good, or worse. So if I come out of it with some ideas about my life, great. If I come out of it thinking it meant something specific that I should do, I should only do that if it only adds to, not substitutes for, other reasons for doing whatever it is.
