short story my life is filled with struggles starting from birth, pretty much a miracle saved my life as a baby from lead posioning

i ran into a strange woman 2 years ago and which i still think about…

this woman came up to me and my friends saying could she use our fire from the cookout grill, we said sure she had a handful of missing children/people letters and said i they where not found she would burn them in there memory…

so she said if she takes our hands she could tell us about or lives and whats in store…
so she went down person by person and was right on the money with everyone,

she then came to me i said i dident want to do this, she said dont be scared

i gave her my hand and instantly she said oh buddy your not doing what your supposed to,
she pulled me aside and told me she was sorry for everything ive been through it must have been tough to see my father die, this woman dident know me for anything…but she was right about everything…

she then said my guardian angel was st michael, since day one god wanted me to be protected bu his right hand man…she said i was part of a very few selected people to spread gods word, and battle for god…she said she was sorry but god is prepping me for the tough times to come, i am not an army soldier but i am very competitve and willing to do anything for someone who needs help, ive always felt this way…

she told me she was pleased to meet me for she had meet one of gods soldiers…she said my type are born for a reason to do what others cant and make tough decisions in the good of man…

i dident know what to make of this but at the end of our talk she started to tear and said she was so pleased to have met me…she knew everything about me and told me that arch angel michael has been trying to give me signs of my destiny…

this is very chilling but confusing at the same time, but i am always in the situation of helping someone in trouble…

is this serious or is this a just a mis understanding

While it may be uncanny I’d tread cautiously. Working in my church, I have encountered individuals who make claims to prophetic powers who prophesy (for an outlandish example one told me that I was part of the 5% of people who were real people and not clones).

Be careful not to take this message too close to heart so that place yourself above others, pride is always a stumbling block. But all you need to know are these things:

1. God loves you unconditionally, as He loves all others.
2. We are all called by God to sainthood by living exemplary lives through the Church.

Sometimes God uses other people to give us a spiritual kick in the pants.

Occasionally some of those people have been given very special spiritual gifts.

That said, if this interaction continues, you probably would want to pass any more specific “direction” by your priest/bishop.

Like the others, I would recommend caution. We always need to test the fruits in these matters. It certainly could be that she was used by God to guide you to your path. But, maybe not. Since that day, what has been the fruit of this encounter?

The way I look at it, you just need to draw close to Jesus. Learn your faith very well. Pray. Study the Scriptures and live a sacramental life. If you are doing these things, you will likely have an idea of what God’s will for you is. Oh, and it would be good to seek a good spiritual guide-- perhaps a priest.

Be at peace. When the Lord appoints you, He will anoint you. He will not give you a task without providing you with the grace to accomplish the task.

Ditto to Prophecy’s comments about pride. It is a pretty awesome thought to think that God might have this special plan for you, but you need to remain humble in order to accomplish God’s will. But you probably already know that!

i agree, with you both, but like i said this was to strange…to real

ive never seen this woman ever in my life, and she knew just way to much.
she knew every trial and went down the list of the things i avoided…

i had dreams about contact with someone i couldent see just hearing this voice…
i looked for the woman again after the incident but to only find she dident live there or was around anymore, just gone…

me myself, like i said there is always trials i go through, always…
i dont let this ge to my head, which is also weird, i dont feel any diffrent except the fact that…this really could be…i believe and i am a very hard person to convience but i believe i was approached by a messenger…when someone approaches you and tells you about every detail you have had in your life, thats something you cant avoid…
what i do believe is yes since day one i have had to make choices that most people can not make, very tough choices and decisions…

i have used caution but some find it hard to believe, but ever since it just all makes so much sense…

i believed in god very much when i was growing up, but when i watched my father die in a horrible way, it made me question him and everything about god…

but through those tough times i only understood and was never angerd…

i was in the wrong place at the wrong time- i was in washington d.c and i saw a woman being rapped right in the middle of the street, while most people just kept walking and i myself was gonna do the same, something just made me stop and instantly think about the situation, i could not turn my back and i could not just keep walking i dident know them…but i ran to help but to only take 3 bullets to my chest and stomach… but she was…i remember the doctors told me when i came to in surgery all i asked was is the woman allright, is she o.k…i dont remember saying it but they said i did…that was some time ago all i have are some scars and a memory…

that woman also told me about that day and said my angel wanted me to know i did the right thing and smiled…

i always get this feeling a feeling that wont let me walk away from anything…

but everything that happens to me i would rather help carry someones burden or pain than for them to carry it by themselves…

that woman told me to always listen to that inner feeling, dont avoid it for its gods voice to help direct me tot he right way

First let me offer my condolences for the loss of your father, especially in such a horrible way. Something like that could send even the most devout lover of God for a loop. I’m not sure why God prepares and disciplines us in the ways that He does, except to say He knows best how to form our souls. He doesn’t cause evil things to happen to us, but He will use evil events to shape us into who He wants us to be IF we permit Him too. In other words, if we turn to Him and unite our sufferings to those of Jesus, we can grow in holiness by God’s grace. If we turn away from Him in our trials, we can can and often do slip into sin and walk on the path of destruction. Thankfully, God does everything He can to bring us back to the Light of Christ. In your case, He may have used this woman. No one can tell you for sure “Yes this is real” or “No, she couldn’t have been sent from God.”. You will have to decide for yourself, but I for one, certainly can believe it is possible. I’ve been witness to prophetic moments many times. I’ve been witness to miraculous healings. I believe in God’s power and His desire to work through every day people to accomplish His will.

If her prophecy did not draw you away from God or the Church and it has motivated you to be mindful of God’s direction in your life, then that is a good fruit. However, this occurred a couple years ago, right? Though it is natural to be curious about the woman and what it all means, I would just focus on what God wants for you now. I would just keep seeking God’s will and see how He is directing you. I can’t emphasize enough how much the Holy Spirit can empower us if we just allow Him to work in our lives. I try to say this prayer daily " Oh Holy Spirit, Beloved of my soul, I adore Thee. Enlighten, guide, strengthen and console me. Tell me what I ought to do and command me to do it. I promise to submit to all that Thou will permit to happen to me today, only show me what is Thy will." (prayer by Cardinal Mercier)

If you feel strongly that you want to honor the angels there is a prayer devotion called the angelic crown aka the chaplet of St. Michael that was allegedly asked for by the Archangel Michael. You might want to check it out. The prayer is all about conquering sin and the enemy. If you are not in to this kind of prayer, you could pray the St. Michael prayer daily.

Lastly, if you are interested, it might not hurt you to learn about spiritual warfare. Many Catholics are uneasy about such things, but I think that is because many Catholics are not aware of how real the enemy is in our lives. The devil is prowling throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls, and he is accomplishing quite a lot of that with “lukewarm” Catholics. Perhaps you are chosen by God to battle against satan in some way. However, just remember you won’t get anywhere without God’s grace, so keep it all in prayer and rely on His power and not your own. As I said before, draw close to Jesus and live sacramentally-- the graces in the Sacraments will strengthen you.

It seems like a message that, in a certain sense, could apply to all of us:

We aren’t doing what we should
We have a special mission
God is preparing us for it
This is the reason we are born
Turn to God, listen for Him
Fulfill your mission
“Well done my good and faithful servant”

So whether she was a prophetess or a lunatic the call to listen for God’s will in our lives and to follow it is a universal call that each one of us gets. Some calls are more unique than others…keep listening and keep praying.

Although it seems like a good and perhaps holy thing that you encountered, it may not be. Satan can also see the future and the spiritual world. He quoted Scripture to Jesus too.

There is a book, An Excorcist Tells His Story by Father Gabriel Amorth (the chief exorcist of Rome) and in it he describes many things. Some are similar to what you experienced.

There was also a VERY interesting demonstration of this sort of thing by a person trained in it on television a short time ago. This person was basically a magician and studied human nature. He said that a person can actually be trained in HOW to know a person’s life story, but he wouldn’t go into too much detail, other than to demonstrate doing this with a total stranger in California. I had also read in a magazine someone that said they had NO psychic powers what-so-ever, and they were taught how to do this. They had simply answered an add in a magazine to work for a phone psychic hotline. They said that they couldn’t devulge the secret or their life might be in jeopardy. They did say though that they actually got so good at it that they even started to scare themselves!

Before you think that this is very real or from God, I would strongly suggest that you read Fr. Gabriel’s book; it’s a real eye-opener!

The thing that gives me pause in your story is that this woman read the palms of your friends first and then yours. This is something that we are warned to stay away from! An angel of God would not break God’s command first or encourage one of His children to do that. He would have simply delivered the message without the need to “read” you. The evil one is very tricky and will sucker us in by appearing first as an angel of light. Do you notice how it has disturbed your spirit to the point of thinking about it to this day?

I would highly recommend this book for anyone else that would like to become more aware and discerning of the tricks of the evil-one.

Well, I agree that the need to take their hand seems off, however the op did not say she was palm reading. Only that she asked to hold their hands. I do this all the time when I pray for someone, which is probably why I assumed that she was in prayer. But in re-reading that section of the original post, I agree that sounds fishy.

About Satan having the power to see the future, I’ve never seen that in an authoritative source. Do you have a reference that I could take a look at? Though he is of superior intelligence, Satan is cut off from God’s power. It doesn’t make sense that he can see the future and I’d like more info if you have it. Thanks!

It was how this was worded, that “IF she takes our hands”; this is the give-away to me that this was not an angel. I do remember from the show on fake fortune tellers that it was very important that they hold your hand in order to connect with you somehow. Again, the guy in the show only said that this was an important part of this. Somehow people can literally communicate things to others non-verbally, but the person “reading” you must hold your hand. (I wish that he would have said why, but he didn’t).

Fr. Amorth’s book covers the people that have a spiritual charism that is good and is used by the church to help the church, but he absolutely warns about this.

In the sense of the post Satan could just as easily as the good angels know what the plan was for certain people once that was divulged by God. It wouldn’t even be necessary for the “Father of Lies” to be telling the truth about anyone’s future, especially if he was trying to get you to believe in fortune telling. I do believe though that the book, An Exorcist Tells His Story, covers this idea of Satan having knowledge of the future. To be honest though, I would have to hear another apologist speak on this topic, because I can’t remember exactly where I heard it, therefore I can’t be positive of the answer that I gave.

Again, even though I am not positive of Satan knowing the future (I still think that that’s correct though) I have to instead lean on the point made above, that it doesn’t really matter in this post, because Satan absolutely has knowledge of our past and he can certainly lie to us about our future and then manipulate things in order to make enough of what he said come to pass.

I would love it though if someone better equipped than I answer the question about Satan’s knowledge of the future events.
