can someone help me. I was in a pet shop and one of the workers as she bent down to work she showed her back. not her bum her lower back. when i noticed i didn’t look at first but then i looked for about 2 seconds or so and then turned my head the other was. when i had to walk past her i made sure i didn’t look.

i wasn’t looking at her behind but her back inwhich she was showing. would this be mortal

It itself is not a sin; and it is certainly not a Mortal one. I think you are just being overly scrupulous.

However, this is a sign that there is an underlying problem of scrupulosity; perhaps even to the level wherein you are fearful and this may be negatively damaging your spiritual life, so you should probably speak to a priest at some point - especially if this is not a rare occurence.

You didn’t do anything wrong. Think of doctors, nurses, and emergency workers. They see a lot more. Nothing sinful involved.
 
I confessed something similar one time. Especially in the summer, we get women wearing…summer clothing at our veterinary clinic. Many times they’ll bend over to pick up their pet or a pet will become entangled in their clothing or will…let’s say, “facilitate a peek at body parts that were heretofor covered up a moment ago” with a errant paw or attempt to climb the owner and get off the table.

My priest’s advice was to simply thank God for the beauty of his creations, and move on from there. 😃
 
Sorry, have to share…

Last Sunday (23 May) I was one of the hospitality folks and this young lady walked in. She was wearing a tube top and jeans. She was “healthy” in all ways…myself and the other HM looked at each other and just shook our heads.
Anyway, I sat in the pew for mass and noticed she was sitting three pews in front of me to the left. A mother, her teenage son and teenage daughter were sitting directly behind her.
When it came to kneel down the first time, I close my eyes to connect to our Lord as much as possible. When I opened my eyes, a flash of neon pink caught my eye! Yep, you guess it, when she kneeled, it pulled down her pants in the back to where her neon pink thong was showing as well as part of her upper “butt” showing if you know what I mean. :bigyikes: But what really caught my eye was the violent shaking of the teenage son/daughter in laughter :rotfl: as they attempted to cover their mouths as well as the “jabbing of the elbow in the ribs” motion of the mother trying to get her kids to knock it off while she was in a fit of muffled laughter herself. I couldn’t concentrate…I was starting to laugh myself so I had to concentrate, focus forward and try to ingore all aspects of this situation…no need to tell you where the thong tag was…erect like a flag…:doh2:
