I’m in the UK. I have also done the not go to confession for ages thing so I feel your pain. I’d tell the priest it’s been a long time so he knows especially your first time back. UK priests tend to start with the a greeting to put you at ease and you can tell the priest then. In this day and age of us only just coming back to opened churches and no masses as yet I cant tell you what to expect but its unlikely it will be the usual confessional. Though your priest is entitled to do a he likes the gov gave our priests a very hard time about opening churches in the first place and that’s just for private prayer. Though saying that I’m in England you may not be and may well have use of a confessional, apologies. Usually you can choose a screen or face to face in the same confessional/room.
