Can someone tell me what you say to someone who says Catholics crucify Christ over and over again.

The Catholic Church teaches that the one, all-sufficient, bloody sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary is made present at each Mass in an unbloody manner. Christ is not re-sacrificed at each Mass: rather the Mass re-presents the one sacrifice of Calvary. thus, the effectiveness of the Mass comes entirely from one, bloody sacrifice of Calvary.

They are referring to “re” “presents” as in Christ’s blood and body are “re” “presented” ( presented again) at each Mass.

As a joke:
Well someone has to make and repair crucifixes.
I still need to repair that processional crucifix in the sacristy. He is hanging by velcro!
All joking aside, you can ask them how exactly we crucify him repeatedly. Seriously, I would like to know how we get to someone up in Heaven, unless they believe the Blessed Sacrament is actually Him, and we perform odd violent rituals with Him. The last I checked we don’t nail anything or anyone to a cross at Mass either.

I remind them that God created time, and so Jesus is is outside of time also–therefore His crucifixion is ever-present. Thus when Jesus’ Passion is re-presented, at Mass, we are also present there and receiving the graces that Jesus shares with us in the Body of Christ.
I love the way we say that we lift up our hearts to Heaven, just as St. John was lifted up in Revelation. There we stand behind our Resurrected Savior who is presenting Himself and us to the Father…
The mingling of the wine and water representing Jesus’ humanity and divinity intermingled for all time, as well as our intermingling with Christ in His Body, and His with the Father and the Holy Spirit…
Eating the True Manna, Jesus’ own Flesh and Blood that we might become What we eat…
What is man that God is mindful of Him? I surely don’t know, but what incredible love He has for each one of us!

Now that Jesus has risen from the dead, He can no longer be personally injured or killed. The Bible says, “For we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.” (Romans 6:9) Catholics couldn’t crucify Jesus again, even if they wanted to, which they don’t.
What Catholic priests do at Mass is offer Jesus to the Father in an unbloody manner, in a manner that does no person injury to Jesus whatsoever, similar to the manner in which the LORD directed Aaron to offer the whole tribe of Levi to Himself in Numbers 8:5-21, as a wave offering.

**It is the GLORIFIED and Risen Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity that is made present in a mysterious and micaculous way, at Catholic Mass.
It is an “unbloody” sacrifice, yet REALLY Jesus Himself.**

Another common misinterpretation from our well intentioned Protestant brothers.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us "(CCC 1367) The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice: “The victim is one and the same: the same now offers through the ministry of priests, who then offered himself on the cross; only the manner of offering is different.” "And since in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner. "
God is eternal, outside the constraints of time, therefore the sacrifice is eternal.
We are allowed to enter into the eternal sacrifice, to receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, as He commanded at the Last Supper, "And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Lk 22:19.

Christ is re-presented at Mass. It’s as though the priest reached back in time, plucked up the cross from Calvary, and planted it on the altar, making it present in the church to all the faithful.
