Can someone who committed suicide go to heaven?

Hello. I have been an Active Duty US Navy sailor for 13 years now and over the course of that time have encountered coworkers who have committed suicide. I am deeply sorrowful for the pain their families have gone through and wonder if there is any consolation to them that their child/sibling/friend could possibly go to heaven after committing suicide. Thanks.
