Can someone who rejects the Gospel be saved?

As I said earlier, who of us can actually see the interior of the soul. The most holy looking person could really be a devil in disguise while the most vile and evil looking person could really be as pure as the angels.

As Catholics we have to be careful when we speak about Destined, Destination, Predestined, Predestination, because in Catholic Soteriology this is not as simple as it sounds.

Predestined to Heaven is supernatural, coming totally from His decision and surpassing ALL power of human intellect and will.

CCC 298 Since God could create everything out of nothing, he can also, through the Holy Spirit, give spiritual life to sinners by creating a pure heart in them. 148
And since God was able to make light shine in darkness by his Word, he can also give the light of faith to those who do not yet know him.

.
Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma by Ludwig Ott;

The three Divine or Theological Virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity are infused with Sanctifying grace. (De fide.)

For every salutary act internal supernatural grace of God (gratia elevans) is absolutely necessary, (De fide).

God’s call to eternal life in Heaven is supernatural, coming TOTALLY from God’s decision and surpassing ALL power of human intellect and will. – CCCS 1996-1998;

St. Thomas (C. G., II, xxviii) if God’s purpose were made dependent on the foreseen free act of any creature, God would thereby sacrifice His own freedom, and would submit Himself to His creatures, thus abdicating His essential supremacy–a thing which is, of course, utterly inconceivable.
.
Not even one Christian who is predestined to Heaven reject the Gospel, neither of them die either in the state of mortal sin, this is an absolute Theological Fact.
.
BECAUSE
CCC 308 The truth that God is at work in all the actions of his creatures is inseparable from faith in God the Creator.
God is the first cause who operates in and through secondary causes:
"For God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.“171
Far from diminishing the creature’s dignity, this truth enhances it.
.
Aquinas said, "God changes the will without forcing it . But he can change the will from the fact that he himself operates in the will as he does in nature,” De Veritatis 22:9. 31. ST I-II:112:3. 32. Gaudium et Spes 22; "being …
.
There is a supernatural intervention of God in the faculties of the soul, which precedes the free act of the will, (De fide).

.
1 Cor.3:2; I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able.

.
This is above the solid food teachings of the Catholic Church, as long as someone not yet ready to receive the solid food/ solid teachings, find very hard to receive the above teachings.
.
God bless

I think you are going too far here.

The most vile and evil looking person could be as pure as Angel’s? Really?

A pure soul will not openly deny the Gospel.

Some of you really take this Invincible Ignorance to the extreme! Like someone can behave like a demon, and have a pure soul.

It’s a far cry from what Invincible Ignorance looks like.

How do you define “pure soul”.
Surely anyone who commits a mortal sin does not have a pure soul because they have separated themselves from God by sinning.

Do you consider people separated from God from Original Sin?

This thread isnt about Mortal sin, but those who are aware of the Gospel, yet do not believe.

We are born separated from God, though He beckons and calls everyone in personal ways to Himself. And we are created to long for and seek Him. Some may never hear the Gospel message in this world. Others may hear towards the end of their life. And then others may be raised to know the Gospel from childhood.

What do you mean by “aware” of the Gospel.
Having or showing realization, perception, or knowledge. Being informed, taught, told.

Do we need to continue to beat this horse?

Ammi:
I did not initiate this context. Poche did. And he said as “pure as the angels”.
It does not matter who raised it. You commented on it.
It definitely matters. I responded to Poche’s notion of a pure soul.

I consider the Angel’s, and Mary pure.

Anyone who does not suffer from the fire of Purgatory.

As we previously said it makes a big difference how aware is defined. Simply having heard is not sufficient.

Are you saying only the angels and anyone who went straight to Heaven (bypassing Purgatory) has a pure soul.
I hope not as that would contradict Church teaching. Purgatory purifies the souls there so that when they enter Heaven they have pure souls.

Yes, those in heaven. NOT those who require Purgatory.

So what is your point, in this context?

That means, according to you, of the 7 billion people in the world today there are no pure souls.
