peace2u2;11720988]I don’t agree - there is overwhelming evidence that the Holy Spirit was revealed in the Old Covenant in fact right from the beginning
:
The Spirit was not revealed to our humanity because He was not sent yet until after the passion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
The Spirit of the Law was not given in the Old Covenant. The decalogue was the moral and natural law, which Jesus fulfilled by His own blood, so that the Spirit of the Law (LOVE) can be sent from the Father to raise us from the death of our sins, to become son’s in the Only Begotten Son of God.
We can read the old covenant, with the mind of Christ and see the Holy Spirit mystically present, because Jesus opened the scriptures to us. Without the Spirit of the New and everlasting covenant, you would not be able to have eyes to see or ears to hear what the Spirit reveals in the Spirit of Truth from the Law, the prophets, the psalms, which the Spirit declares to the Church.
Gen1:1-5:In the beginning God [Elohim] created heaven and earth. 2 Now the earth was a formless void [toho ra bohu], there was darkness over the deep, **with a divine wind [ruah] **sweeping [rahap] over the waters. 3God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. 4God saw that light was good, and God divided light from darkness. 5God called the light ‘day’ and the darkness he called ‘night.’ Evening came and morning came: the first day.
divine wind or the word “ruah” is the Holy Spirit -
Ask a Jew what the “ruah” is? He/she will tell you it’s the “breath” of God", never the Holy Spirit, for the Jews read it according to the natural law that leads to death. You and I read it according to the natural law fulfilled in the eternal Spirit of the Law that gives eternal life, that is why we profess "the Holy Spirit is the Lord the giver of life
who has spoken through the prophets". To the Christian “ruah” is both the breath of God revealed by Jesus to be the Holy Spirit the Lord the giver of life.
John 16:7…for if I do not go away, the Counsellor will not come to you, but if I go,I will send Him to you
John 16:13-15 When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the Truth…whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you…He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine, therefore I said thatHe will take what is mine and declare to you".
CCC 715 The prophetic texts that directly concern the sending of the Holy Spirit are oracles by which God speaks to the heart of his people in the language of the promise… see Ezekiel 11:19, 36:25-28, 37:1-14 who preannounces the Spirit of God to come by way of water baptism, which never get’s fulfilled until the baptism Jesus commissioned the Church with in that one name “Father, Son and the Holy Spirit”.
Peace be with you
