Can Spirits[or ghost], physically, attack a believer

I know demons can possess non believers. but can a spirit PHYSICALLY put a persons life in danger? [Note, not talking about demons, but spirits]

what do you mean by spirits?

typically people believe that “ghosts” are either souls from Purgatory asking for prayers (and wouldn’t hurt anyone), or disguised demons.

then there are angels who wouldn’t hurt anyone.

I agree with Monica, if their “physically putting you in danger”, then they ARE demons. :sad_yes:

Demons can only do what God has permitted. There are saints who were attacked by demons…and this was with God’s permission, but the attack was to make them closer to God and to give them sanctifying grace…but none were put in danger of losing their lives, I think.

Among saints attacked are St. Gemma Galgani, Padre Pio, St. John Vianney, Catherine of Sienna.
