maurin, that’s funny… it seems like you’re either assuming the rest of us liars, since we’ve been posting what the Pope says for a looooooooong time now, or you’ve never participated in another thread on this forum before, which I suppose is possible. But thank goodness you believe rpp.
It doesn’t fail to amaze me that people would post information, and insist on it, when they, as you have admitted, didn’t have all the facts. I’ve made some doosies myself. But I have always admitted it and taken responsibility for it. And apologized to those I offended. I’m just saying…
I have participated in other threads on this forum but not on this topic so I wasn’t aware of what you have been posting for such a long long time.(You must be sooo frustrated by now but hey somebody’s got to slap down those stupid people who ask questions.) The OP wanted to find out what the Holy See’s position is on SSPX members receiving communion in other Catholic churches. The question caught my attention since I was interested to know the answer.
You, being one who does ‘have all the facts’, were not kind enough to give an unambiguous answer to the question. Therefore the thread became speculation based on the facts that we did know about what the Holy Father has said. You still didn’t share your expertise with us or even refer us to a former thread where you had done so. rpp finally answered the original question in post #42.
There are people who come to this forum looking for information or to try to puzzle out the truth of a situation. My previous contact with people who seek out a SSPX mass has been with those who are sedevacantists and deny the validity of the OF and of Vatican II. They won’t even attend a TLM unless the priest was ordained by someone who was a bishop prior to Vatican II. For all I knew, most of the people who are attracted by the SSPX might be in that category.
But it seems the TLM is only available in some parts of the country from priests of the SSPX. Who knew? Well, maybe rpp did and he was the only one willing to instruct the ignorant about what the pope actually said about attending SSPX masses. So the faithful are permitted to fulfill their Sunday obligation by attending a SSPX mass but they are encouraged to attend mass in a regular parish. Say, that’s kind of like an indult.
This forum is just so much fun.:banghead:
