Can the Bible be changed?

Just a question. Is the Bible a set document? The US Constitution and documents like were meant to be living, breathing documents–to be altered and changed as needed. Of course with the correct procedures and votes and such but still they can be changed. Can the Bible ever be changed? The times are changing and i think most would agree that selling your daugher into slavery or stoneing your wife are things people don’t agree with anymore.
Okay, so maybe changing the Bible to reflect social norms of the time is not the greatest idea but what if something happened, i don’t know a miracle or something, a sign from God, something that deserves to be part of the Bible…would it ever be altered?

No, the Bible is set and cannot be added to or taken away from.

The old customary Laws of Moses no longer apply to us.
This is because Christ already fulfilled them.
Also, many of the Laws were based on social norms at the time.

Now, when I say it cannot be changed, I don’t mean it cannot be edited based on scholarship. By this I mean editing its based on the Dead Sea Scrolls or some other ancient documents.

Also, while inclusive language is controversial, it is still OK to an extent.

However, actually adding to it as the LDS added the Book of Mormon is heresy.

The Canon is set and no alterations are allowed,no additions.What is needed is to understand the bible in the time,culture and context written.

The Bible was not put together by the Church. It was received by the Church from apostolic sources as the word of God, and as such it remains forever

It was the Church who gave us the Bible. I may be reading your statement above incorrectly but there is an implicaton that the “apostolic sources” were around first before the Church. If anything those “apostolic sources” were the Church.

Others may chime in but I do believe the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation says no further new public revelation before the return of Christ is expected. [paragraph 4]

“Apostolic” means “from the apostles.” The Church is a witness to the inspiration of the Bible.
