Can the Church make changes in Church doctrine?

I wish clarification about changes in Church Doctrine…and how much, if any, has really happened outside of clarifications of already believed things.
 
The Catholic Church cannot change the doctrines God has given it - the deposit of faith has been “once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3). However, obscurities and misunderstandings regarding the deposit of faith can be cleared up over time.
