Hello,
I have many friends deep into physics and I was asked if the SOUL was actually constituted of something that we simply cant detect at this time our does Cathollicism teach that its of a only a spiritual nature that would never be explained in this life or the next.

They have hard time believing in something thats consist of nothing?

I would not only have a hard time believing in something that consists of nothing, I wouldn’t believe it. The soul, however, is not nothing.

The soul is classically understood as the form of the body. Due to its immaterial operations that are intrinsically independent of matter, such as intellection and volition, it is an immaterial reality that can exist apart from the body.

Much legwork is required to metaphysically prove this. However, it can be done. You may want to start reading the works of philosopher Edward Feser.

He has a great collection of blogs that deal with the human soul. You can find them here: edwardfeser.blogspot.com/2011/05/mind-body-problem-roundup.html

He also has written an entire book on this subject entitled *Philosophy of Mind: A Beginner’s Guide. *

Happy reading!
