Actually, the Chrism Mass is presumed to be Holy Thursday morning; that’s its actual place in the liturgical calendar. It’s permitted to be moved elsewhere in Holy Week (and even in some cases, earlier).Chrism Mass is permitted on Maundy Thursday.
A funeral service without Mass could be celebrated on Friday or Saturday, but not Easter Sunday. So just to be clear a funeral mass isn’t allowed?
I do not understand the purpose of this and would be obliged if you could explain. I was answering the question about whether the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper is the only Mass permitted on the Thursday prior to Easter. It is not and the Chrism Mass is permitted, indeed, having it on this Thursday is normative.Actually, the Chrism Mass is presumed to be Holy Thursday morning; that’s its actual place in the liturgical calendar.
