Whose stereotype! Not one that we accept! If you had read our posts, including mine with its’ examination of the meanings of the words, you would have learned your interpretation is far from the truth!I hope you’re right.
Because the other posters seem to imply that even things like chattiness and being too happy are sins. Which seems very Gnostic and ugly to me.
Of course it doesn’t concern me that much. Since I am not believer (or even a nominal Catholic). Nevertheless the idea that one of the world’s major religions regards happiness and talkativeness as sins to be actively discouraged is somewhat troubling:shrug:
This Daughters of Gluttony thing also buys into the stereotype that the more holy a person is, the more grim they are and unpleasant to be around.
You may wish to think the worst of us, but that gives no credence whatsoever to your gloomy view of us!
AS St Teresa of Avila/Jesus said, “Spare us from sour faced nuns and gloomy saints!” Saints and genuine Christians have peace and joy in their hearts even in the face of awful suffering!!!
