An unbaptized man, married to a Christian woman in a Protestant ceremony, becomes a Catholic. Does their marriage automatically become sacramental?

Hi,

If the Christian woman is not a Catholic, and the unbaptized man becomes a Catholic, the marriage would indeed by sacramental. If the woman had been a Catholic and married the man outside of the Catholic Church, the marriage would not be valid. But the Catholic Church does recognize the marriages between non-Catholics to be valid. It also recognizes marriages between baptized Christians to be sacramental.
