My question is, can those who have first married in the Church but later divorced and then remarried outside the Church be saved?

If I’ve understood the Church’s teaching right, in eyes of the Church those who have left their sacramental marriage and civilly remarried outside the Church are unrepentant adulterers who are living in a continuous state of mortal sin. And they cannot inherit the Kingdom of God if they don’t repent and either leave their new “spouses” or start to live as brother and sister.

However, I’ve heard some priests say that though invalidly remarried Catholics cannot receive Eucharist, Holy Spirit does still give blessings to them and that their faith will be rewarded.

I’m VERY confused about this and I’d like to know that can those people be saved if they keep on living in sin and do not fix their situation?

First of all, it is true that if one divorces and remarries without a declaration of nullity (annulment), then one would be in an objective state of mortal sin. However, that does not mean they are automatically guilty of the mortal sin and condemned to Hell.

Even though such an adulterous state is grave matter, full knowledge and deliberate consent are the remaining necessary conditions for the sin to have a mortal effect—the cessation of the supernatural life of God (grace) existing in the soul (see Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1857).

So, in short, it is possible for those remarried outside the church to be saved. But that is not to say that such a state of life is morally permissible.
