Does the holy spirit use natural logic to understand the scripture interpretation for you, how does the holy spirit communicate with you?
Absolutely. Logic is part of reason and is rightly called Philosophy 101. Logic is essential to the proper interpretation of scripture but as with all things of the faith, it is not the exclusive faculty at the expense of all else. We also require faith, prayer and contemplation to fully benefit from the Scriptures. And all this within the living tradition of the Church. For as long as we stay within the bounds defined by the Church, we’re on good ground.Does the holy spirit use natural logic to understand the scripture interpretation for you, how does the holy spirit communicate with you?
Logic is one of the tools of the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit has certainly communicated with me that way. Other ways include simply through the heart; I commonly hear the Spirit through peace in my heart.Does the holy spirit use natural logic to understand the scripture interpretation for you, how does the holy spirit communicate with you?
Well said. Some have made “Shipwreck” by over analyzing scripture when it merely means what it says.Others attempt to rationalize the scriptures to fit their predetermined theological position.God created the human mind and the brain. Logic is what it is because it cannot be otherwise. We grasp its fundamental truths through a primary intuition. We don’t arrive at the truth using logic, because even if we reason correctly, we do not know what the proper premises are to reason from. Same with Scripture. We ca misunderstand the language of Scripture and thus be trying to think logically with a false premise, or comparing passages out of their context.
Romans 8:11 If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you.Does the holy spirit use natural logic to understand the scripture interpretation for you, how does the holy spirit communicate with you?
The answer seems obvious to me. If “natural logic” is insufficient to understand “scripture interpretation,” then “scripture interpretation” lacks “natural logic.” I cannot believe that God is illogical, but I do realize that “scripture interpretation” need not be literal, therefore not need to follow the logic of literalism. Scripture interpretation may be symbolic, metaphorical, or metaphysical. Those appear “illogical” to some people.Does the holy spirit use natural logic to understand the scripture interpretation for you, how does the holy spirit communicate with you?
As far as the scripture is concerned, there is nothing new in it. It has been around for nearly two thousand years. Every book and verse of the Bible has been interpreted. If you found something new in it, you are probably making it up yourself and therefore understand it not as how the authors of the scripture meant it.Does the holy spirit use natural logic to understand the scripture interpretation for you, how does the holy spirit communicate with you?

The biggest problem I see, is that what people call “logic,” and are so confident that is what they use when analyzing and evaluating, is actually a combination of rationality and rationalization - a little bit of logic, and a considerably larger bit of strongly held personal belief. I believe it is impossible to be completely logical. We twist evidence and so-called reasoning to fit certain ultimate beliefs we have. So, communist think Marx is supremely logical; libertarians, maybe Mencke; capitalists, Adam Smith; atheists, Dawkins, Intelligent Design advocates, Meyer and Dembski; Darwinists, Darwin. Catholics, the Popes; Mormons, the President-Prophets; Muslims, the Quran. Isn’t it possible that all of them are moved more by prejudice than by logic? I think those who have changed the most are the most likely to have been moved by logic and evidence, with the minimum of personal belief - Antony Flew, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Peter Hitchens, Lee Strobel, and many more.
