We are only perfect through Christ’s perfect sacrifice on the Cross. The bible tell us that we must be pefect as our heavenly Father is perfect. This has really been on my mind lately…does this mean that we can actually live a sinless life at some point if we fully cooperate with God’s grace and surrender to him? Or, is God telling us something that is impossible for us to accomplish here on earth (except for Our Blessed Mother, of course), and it points to the need for purgatory after we die. I guess in short … “we are all sinners”, but can we ever become and stay sinless?
Rather than getting depressed over your imperfections, rejoice in the fact that this portion of the burden -“perfection”- has been accomplished by Christ. Praise Him for this!
Remain sober, however, in pursuing your call to spend eternity in Heaven. Slowly transform yourself through God’s grace and continually strive to separate yourself from sinful habits, thoughts and feelings. Avail yourself of the means of grace in order to accomplish these things, for without grace it is impossible…
