Can we believe in a multiverse theory still believing God created it all

I not all that convinced by it but is the multiverse theory a permitted view (the multiverse view is that there could be many different universes)
 
I don’t think it is either. By my understanding of it, if it’s true, then there is at least one universe where I am damned, and one where I am not. Those me’s in those universes would presumably have my soul, after all, but how could those me’s be me?
 
The Catholic Church does not take a position these days on how many universes we have, so as long as you consider them all part of what God created, you can believe in as many as you want.

People who say that you exist in multiple dimensions are ignoring the unique aspect of the human soul. They believe that someone who looks like you (or exists in the same “place” in an alternate universe,) is you. However, this is false. They are not you. You are you and they are them. You have a unique soul, and they would have a separate unique soul. If you are saved and they are damned, you are not both saved and damned.

As for this, no I don’t think there’s any issue with it. It doesn’t matter how many universes there are, God had to create them.

Exactly. That’s why I don’t like it and doubt its compatibility with the Faith. I could of course be misunderstanding the multiverse theory or the Church could rule otherwise and I would accept that, but as it stands, I dislike it.
 
I dislike it as well, but the thing to remember is that this theoretical “you” in the other universe isn’t actually you. It doesn’t matter how similar their life is to yours, even being identical up until that point, they are not and cannot be you. The final outcome of their soul would be entirely detached from the outcome of yours.
 
The multiverse theory still does not explain who created it. It just proves that the universe is way more complicated than we realize. And makes the theory that it all came about thru chance more and more ridiculous.

i’m doubting the Multiverse because this one is SO VAST with
several 100 millions of galaxies so it seems sufficient to express
& contain all that God wished to bring about
 
I don’t see why the multi universe theory would cast doubt on God as creator.
God is infinite in every way, and has limitless power.
This question involves the matter of what God is. God being all-powerful can do anything, something, I agree, we have difficulty in understanding.
 
If at least one of the other universes were similar to ours, there would be fallen human beings in need of a Savior in the other ones, too. I don’t think we can admit multiple Incarnations of the Word. Perhaps one could say there was one Incarnate Lord in multiple universes (because, being divine, He could do that); but that just gets unnecessarily weird, and there’s no evidence for it whatsoever. If you postulate infinite multiple universes (i.e. with every possibility realized), you’re going to end up with some nasty scenarios, some of which many people would find offensive to faith.

If multiverse is in the sense that there are many universes, rather than the one universe that we know, then I think it will not affect the creation story or that God is the Creator. In fact, it even enhances God’s power that He could create all these.

Multiverse as in many universes would be like we have the solar (star) systems that make a galaxy, and billions of galaxies make the universe, and many universes make the multiverse.

At present we do not know that there are other universes because our telescopes are not advanced enough to see beyond the universe. But as technology improves, there are many things in the sky that we will discover. We only know that there are other planets less than fifty years ago but now we have recorded a few thousands planets that exist. Since most stars have their own planetary systems, there may be trillion of planets in the universe, a knowledge that we cannot even imagine years ago.

We are perhaps revisiting the age of the Copernicus, where new discoveries of the space gives new dimension to our understanding of the universe. Perhaps we are just one of the universes in a multiverse, who knows.

We may not know, as we do not know the extent of God’s power. It is so big, so infinite, that it is beyond human’s grasp. But may be one day.

Maybe HE got bored of us constantly screwing up what HE gave us and decided to start afresh somewhere new (i.e. a new universe).
HE’s God, HE can do whatever HE wants.
 
God, being external from all these universes, would have the same ideals, so even with infinite universes there shouldn’t and won’t be anything unjustly nasty.
 
I like speculating about all the cool fun things I’m doing in an alternate universe (and of course I have way better hair)
