We can have many interpretations. We can only have ONE interpretation that is correct.

Within the Catholic Christian Faith, some parts of the bible are considered “essentials” and others are “non-essentials”.
Therefore there is only one acceptable interpretation of those parts of the bible that declare that there is only ONE GOD, who God is, who Jesus is, that the blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse us from ALL sin, the reality of the resurrection of the body and other essentials.
But there is much room for personal interpretation of non-essential passages.
For example, it is essential to believe that God created all things seen and unseen.
But exactly how God chose to create everything is a non-essential, and thereby open to personal interpretation. Immediate creationism, the big bang plus theistic evolution, or some hybrid of the two are all acceptable, so long as the essential belief in God as the creator of all things remains inviolate.
