=LegoGE1947;9061796]My question is kind of a comment on the title of this thread: Can we love a God We Don’t Understand? So how can someone claim to “know” God (or Jesus) when we can’t understand Jesus, God or the Holy Spirit! I come from the tradition and I’ve heard it for a lot of years before I left it in favor of the Catholic faith about 10 years ago. People still talk to me about “knowing” Jesus as Savior and Lord. I went through the evangelical ritual of walking up to in front of a large auditorium and being led in praying the “sinner’s prayer” as it is called, and then a week later being dunked in a big tank of water “in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit” I like Joan of Arc’s response “if I’m not a Christian may God make me one and if I am a Christian may God keep me as one.”(or something like that)
Love your reply:thumbsup:
IMO one cannot accept the Bible as taught by Christ and entrusted along with the KEYS to Heavens access to Peter and the CC alone is due to a lack of true faith from which flows God’s CONTROLLED UNDERSTANDING. Many wish to deny simply because they can’t comprehend what are God’s Mysteries!

…FOLKS a Mystery is a MYSTERY becuase it CAN"T be understood. That does not make it untrue!
**Rom.9: 18 **“What then are we to say? Is there injustice on the part of God? Of course not! For he says to Moses: “I will show mercy to whom I will, I will take pity on whom I will.” So it depends not upon a person’s will or exertion, but upon God, who shows mercy. “
Heb. 3 12 “Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we share in Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end, while it is said, “Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Isa.43: 7and 21: “every one who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." AND the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.”
Isa. 55: 6-11"Seek the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Consider carrefully:
Isa.29: 16 ” You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay; that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?
**Isa.64: 8 **“Yet, O LORD, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou art our potter; we are all the work of thy hand.”
***ASK YOURSELF WHY? WHY SHOULD GOD ALLOW YOU TO IGNORE HIS TEACINGS IN FAVOR OF YOUR OWN MAN-MADE EASIER TEACHINGS?
God Bless,
