Can we make our own prayer beads?

Even if I’m not divinely inspired or shown anything by the Blessed Mother, am I able to make my own set of prayer beads and start my own devotion? Something similar to hindu mala beads. But used for prayer.

Yes. Privately made “beads” are fine.

(So long as it is not contrary to the Church’s teaching…)

Really, why not? As long as they are used as a private devotion and not contrary to the Church’s teaching? Please cite as I am always willing to learn something new. Peace.

I am the original poster. I was saying definitely not in regards to it being against the Church’s teachings. Sorry for the confusion! 🙂
