What is the Catholic position on praying to save the soul of Satan? Additionally, if we could save this soul, would it not mean the end of evil as we know it?
Satan cannot be saved. Angels are pure spirit and have much greater intelligence than man. Because of this, their choice to reject God was an eternal one that cannot change. There is no point in praying to save Satan because he is incapable of repentance or salvation.
