My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year-and-a-half. We love each other very much and have recently been considering marriage. I think that we are a great match. However, he is Jewish and I am Catholic. Religion is important to both of us. I do not expect him to convert and I have been quite clear that I do not plan on converting. The issue develops when we talk about how we would want to raise children. We have considered raising them with both religions. I think the Jewish faith and holy days teach good morals and values. And learning more about the Jewish faith would show more about where the Catholic faith comes from. However, I would want my children to believe in Jesus as well. Is it possible to raise Jewish/Catholic children? Does the Catholic Church allow children to be confirmed if they have had a bar/bat mitzvah as well?
