Thank you. It’s interesting the different words used to describe our relationship with God: servant, child, friend, member of His Body just to name a few.

Before that, my moniker was “Ghoti”, pronounced “Fish”: “gh” as in “laugh”, “o” as in “women”, and “ti” as in “nation”. And of course the fish (ΙΧΘΥΣ) is an ancient Christian symbol. The Lord said, “I will make you Ghotiers of men…” 😃

Holy See Officially Recognizes Cursillos

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 11, 2004 (Zenit.org).- The Cursillo movement, a Christian renewal effort that started in 1949 in Spain and spread worldwide, was recognized officially by the Holy See.

This movement received the decree of recognition today during the course of a Liturgy of the Word, at the headquarters of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, presided over by Archbishop Stanislaw Rylko.

Among those attending were leaders of the movement’s four international groups, as well as bishops from several countries.

The Cursillo movement is present in 60 countries, with a following of some 5 million. The basic idea of the cursillo, or “little course,” is a three-day retreat for those seeking God to whom the fundamental truths of the Christian faith are proclaimed.

The first cursillo was held from Jan. 7-10, 1949, on the island of Majorca, the fruit of the commitment of Catholic Action youth who had made a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in the Marian year of 1948.

The cursillos spread so rapidly. Within five years, cursillos were held in all the continents.

At a May 2002 meeting with Cursillo representatives, John Paul II encouraged the process of discernment that led to today’s decree.

2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

Ephesians 4:23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Colosians 3:10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

This is a name that I gave myself when I first started on the internet. It’s a play on words obviously. It’s meant to describe how dense or silly I can be.

I decided to keep “Loboto-Me” on this forum due to the fact that I’m still learning my faith, and this helps other people see that I’m not one of those knowledgeable people that are often encountered here.

Now I’m not saying that I don’t know what I’m talking about lol, it’s just that I still have much to learn 😃

“Trishie” was the last word my brother David said to me over the phone some hours before he died in a car accident in 2002.

Yes, first I was widowed young, and then I lost my fiance this past summer. But I’m becoming quite adept at crawling through that hole… 😉

“Son of BenedictXVI” He`s my favourite pope in living memory (born in 1954).

The other meaning: Son of B16 means B-17, the WW2 Flying Fortress bomber, a favourite of bomber crews. It had a reputation for being able to take a pounding, and still making it back home. It seems appropriate on these forums.

In mid January, a poster called me "maam"; lets hope this helps to avoid any repetition.
