The physical reality of worship does not inhibit our closeness to God, it only aids it.
I agree, that to some degree there is this point of contact, but it is at the very most only a clue, or a bread crumb trail on the ground, that points us to Christ, the reality. Does that address, your comment? 🤷

Sincerely,
Ragamuffinblues.

ps. St. Paul, makes the point in Romans 1.

I think so :dts:

What are you trying to say here? What I heard (in your words) was that all we need is the Word and all this other stuff is just a distraction…Man. :hug3:

In a way, that is what I am saying.

He (the living Word) shines in every blade of grass, in every whisper of the wind, in every child’s heart, in ever breaking wave, in adversity, and suffering, in blessing and times of hardship. He is there, where we are, and where we are not, in the seen and the unseen.
It’s just that sometimes its really hard to see that, and we walk on through the night, unto that perfect day, when we shall know the Lord our God, as He knows us.
For the unbelieving heart, which trembles in unbelief, there are so many clues (bread crumbs - as per Hansel and Gretel) which lead back home (aka. Prodigal Son), whether it is in the form of a dream, or a story book, or a child’s nursery rhyme, or a song, or in any of the things I already referred to, they all end at the one pathway, the one that is clearly marked with the blood prints of our Lord, and lead straight to the cross, the burial, the resurrection, the ascension and the final consummation. 👍

Sounds like you’re arguing for sacraments here! 👍
