During an RCIA class, the speaker began speaking about women and the priesthood. He started saying that there were women deacons and that there will probably be a catholic women priest. He says there is no doctrine stating so (even though i thought canon 1024 clearly states it cannot happen) and that the pope can change the rules if he wants to in the future. I want to make sure that the RCIA candidates are not given false information. The speaker actually used to be a catholic priest about 40 years ago but has since left the priesthood for a family. This started a heated debate and it needs to be addressed. Any info would be great. Thank you
