Can you answer this long unanswered question?

Hi!there is a question that i have been pondering on and the people i have asked have not been able to furnish me a satisfying answer.šŸ˜¦ it is taught by the Church(correct me if i am wrong) that Love is the greatest of the three theological virtues i.e faith, hope and charity/love.the former virtues are extinguished so to speak when we get to heaven since we are in the presence of God.if that is the case, then i would argue that i may marry someone who is not of my faith, who still does believe in God and worships him albeit in a different mode, since i would be marrying the person out of the love i have for them which ultimately leads to love for God since God is its source.so is it wrong to sacrifice my faith for the love of another and ultimately for the greater love of God?i look forward to a reply.thanks!šŸ™‚

Our primary duty is to love God. Any attempt to love anyone else must be subject to our love for Him. To put oneā€™s love for one of His creatures ahead of oneā€™s love for Him is to lie about His sovereignty and is to betray Him. This is what mortal sin is. ā€œI am the Lord your God. You shall have no strange gods before meā€ is the FIRST commandment.

So to speak of sacrificing oneā€™s love for another is to create a false dichotomy. Putting oneā€™s love for God first is the very BEST thing we can do for those we love.
