So, I am wondering if I am exempt from fasting on Fridays during Lent. Right now, I am a college student taking 18 units, I am organizing a fundraising event for April, and I play softball. So, when I fast (which is Ash Wednesday and Friday, the two days I have Pre-Calculus), I have a really hard time staying focused on what I am doing. Also, I have my CPR certification class on a Friday, and I’m pretty sure that that classifies as moderate physical activity. I’m just not sure that I am getting the energy I need to function with my schedule. Also, I’ve noticed on several Catholic sites that students may be exempt from fasting. Just a side note.
Thanks.

Hi,

This may lubricate your sticky question. We are not required to fast on all Fridays of Lent. The only two days of required fasting are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. But we are required to abstain from meet on all the Fridays of Lent as well as on Ash Wednesday.
