Can you date after divorce prior to annulment?

If a person is legally divorced but has not been granted an annulment can they have a relationship as long as it is pure and not of an intimate nature? I have read it is not acceptable, but I have had priests tell me that it is as long as it is of a pure nature.

I am looking for clarity on this matter.
