I have a friend who has a particular disease. In order to remain healthy and ensure it doesn’t turn into something worse, she needs to get treatments every so often. She has no insurance, no financial support, and is 19 years old. The town she lives in only has one place that she can afford and doesn’t require insurance. This women’s “health center” is staunchly pro-choice, offering abortions, contraceptives, and the like. She went there once for treatment before now, not realizing what kind of place it is until afterward. Because of her lack of financial and family support, my friend is faced with the choice to either delay treatment for months until she moves to a bigger town (which she is planning on doing) and risk her health or receive treatments from this place. What should she do? Is it wrong to go there and get treated?
