I have a dear protestant friend who sent me an article which makes two propositions:
referering to God singularly and emphasising the monotheistic
doctrine of Judaism.
- the greatest obstacle for acceptance of Christ in Jewish believers
is the Trinitarian concept of God as “One God in three persons.”
referering to God singularly and emphasising the monotheistic
doctrine of Judaism.
- the concept of the Trinity is never scripturally explained by
Jesus in the Gospels nor is it mentioned by the Prophets, Peter,
Paul or John.
In fact the article quotes Jesus in (Mark 12:29) “The first of all the
commandments is, Hear, O Isreal: The Lord our God is one Lord.”
The article concludes that the idea of the Trinity was created by
men some three centuries after the time of Jesus and can only
be described as “the unknowable, unfathomable mystery of the Trinity.” and " a foundation of the Christian faith that’s beyond human comprehension."
