Can you give me some Catholic info on works v. sola fide?

I know this is probably covered ad nauseum on this site, but I’m debating a Baptist about works/salvation and I’m coming up with my own interpretations of Scripture on works.

I went to the Catechism and couldn’t find the silver bullet response, and didn’t find anything that would make sense to a Bible Christian. Can someone help me clarify my thoughts and direct me to the obvious Gospel/Scripture passages?

I’ve used the Parable of the Talents, 1 Peter: 12, and just common sense, but it’s not working.
