Can you help me understand why Catholics do these things?

Why do the Catholic Church babtize babies?
We were born in a world of sin, not with sin!

What is the deal with the Hail Marry?
Why idolize the mother of Christ so. Make no mistake, i do respect her, but that is how far it goes.

How can a priest forgive you your sins??

Does it not say in Exdodus 20 4-7 that you cant do that.

Please guys, i am Protastant and my wife is Catholic. But i am trying to understand the religion. For somebody like me, growing up in a AFM Church, this is so diffrent
