Hello I have been having some difficulties with where God is calling me. So I
was raised Catholic so I always went through the motions of mass and such. Last summer I went to a week long retreat which changed my whole views on life and how we really need to live out our faith. So I have a boyfriend and I truly believe God put us together. He is totally Catholic as well and wants to use our relationship to glorify God. We pray together, go to adoration, both help out in youth groups at my church, and challenge each other to be the best we can be. As well as just enjoy each others company! Yet sometimes I feel like God would be calling me to religious life. Mainly because a seminarian I know suggested it to me (I later found he suggests it to everyone! Literally everyone because he even asks people who are already married.) and so I try being open to religious life but it causes huge anxiety. I sometimes feel like God would be upset with me if I didn’t become a nun but it scares me so much and I have no joy when I think about it. So I want to continue my relationship with my boyfriend but I also want God to be happy with me. Any help?

Hi,

When God calls two people to marriage, He makes the thought of marriage a pleasing attraction. When He calls one to the religious like, He makes the attraction a pleasing experience also. He doesn’t call people by making them feel guilty. Stop worrying and accept the attraction to marriage that He is giving you. You are in our prayers.
