Last year at this time I was into extreme Traditionalism (SSPX, then Sedevacantism). These people lied to me, put me through hell and confused me. I wasn’t as strong in my faith, so I guess I was an easy target.

Those same ultra-Traditionalists told me to sell my “novus ordo” Catholic books because they were infested with modernism. I listened to them. I had a huge collection of books that I had spent years collecting. I used that money to buy the traditionalist books they suggested I get.

Once I came to my senses (by the grace of God), I sold the traditional books and was able to get a few of the “novus ordo” books back. Due to all this I was left deep in credit card debt, I am now facing bankruptcy. Due to that I cannot afford to get these books back.

I am humbly asking if any of you , if you have extra copies could maybe help me out. This is no scam, Catholic Answers was able to supply me with some books of theirs which I am grateful for. I can prove my claims. I’m sorry to even ask this but I was made a fool of by these ultra-traditionalists and I would like to get the books back I had bought for my wife and I and our children. I pray someone will be able to help.

That’s not to say that, unless it has the mark of being without error, any of those books was without any errors. Even those “nihil obstat?” marks are not infallible. Even if the one giving it finds no errors correctly, it doesn’t mean that there is no playing word games to have the truth say something else it doesn’t really say. I think that’s what was done with the Vatican 2 documents, which may have had intentional loopholes built into the documents even however free from errors any or them all were.

I would not be on a craze to get all these novo ordo books back. Michael Rose and James Hitchcock are good. Our FSSP priest likes Fr. Faber a lot. There’s Archbishop Sheen. Those 2 have written over the two periods of Church history.

Apart from all the “how Vatican 2 was pre-flawed” and “how the NO Mass was written by a Masonic cleric (another way a true book could be intended to have loopholes for semantics to be played with its meaning)” TAN books are very good. There’s also Roman Catholic Books (which sells a Missal that has many prayers in it) and Sophia books that print classics. Stick with the classics that had no fuzzy language (post V2 traditionalists can also play games, but are not so cunning as they are reactionaries and can’t get common people’s trust that easily as warm thoughts are more appealing to most) and you can’t go wrong. I’m not saying, though, that all post V2 and N.O. writers are cunning with their language. Some rationalize things as reason such as using tradition as a small “t” to have us not go SSPX or worse over the stripping of that which used to be our civilization’s work of love to our Creator.

I think the truth is that some stupid stuff happened, but we are still to be obedient to the clerics in charge since V2 and the Pope is the head of the Church and can do Pope stuff wioth authority even if he does questionable stuff (unless obviously totally wrong, like the couple way-too-young popes that had mistresses). We’ve had them yet we still have an unbroken line so why should nowadays be any different? That’s my take. Stick with the classics.

As for the money, I’m in S. Korea for another 6 months. Sorry I can’t help.

Maybe (Card?) Bugnini or the sec. of state (or whatever that position was called) played intentional semantics with V2 documents and the N.O. to be exploited later and maybe they didn’t, but I think the smoke of Satan has clouded many influential minds to keep us from bringing about the kingship of Christ in the world. I do believe that another Charlemagne will come, but the UN or secret societies within may have to start another WW with the intention of killing enough people and shaking up borders enough to reshape them under some NWO leadership for the king to foil their plans.
