Can you name any saints who were transformed by Scripture?

I thought I would throw this question out to this forum – do you know of any saints who were transformed by reading Scripture? I know of two examples – Saint Augustine and Saint Ignatius, but I’m interested in others. This is for a brief talk I am giving on Sunday for a Confirmation class.

I’d be especially interested in a couple of examples of women who were changed by reading the Bible, as I have the aforementioned male examples already.

I know you’re looking for female Saints, and I’ll give that some thought a bit later, but the first Saint that came to mind was Saint Francis of Assisi. When he returned from his attempt to join the crusades, his mother gave him a copy of the gospel of Luke (I think it was Luke). Anyway, reading that gospel gave direction to the rest of his life.
 
Saint Jerome

If you have time, look at some of the more modern female Saints (19th and 20th centuries). Women were far more likely to be illiterate in previous centuries than were men.
 
And for a female Saint -

St. Hildegard of Bingen was a female Saint in the 11th century who is now a Doctor of the Church, her life revolved around Scripture as well.

I dont think there are any saints who were not transformed by scripture. But i know that saint therese of lisieux lost her interest in all books except the gospels and the imitation of christ when she advanced in holiness
