Can you receive communion if you have lied?

It depends on the type of lie…the gravity of it…length if lying…if your lie hurt others…if it created scandal…etc.

Venial sins are forgiven at the act of contrition. By all means im not saying to lie though.

I have its not really clear or at not clear enough for me to figure it out. I’ve already checked there and the Missal and neither are exactly clear.

Your priest is the best person ask. He can determine if lying in your case would be mortal or venial. He will know you and your circumstances (which is a huge determination in making the judgement) better than any of us.
