Can you recommend a book to help bring someone back to Catholicism?

I have a friend who claims to be Catholic but has his own ideas about faith that do not comply. He recommends that I read “Conversations With God” by Neale Donald Walsch. I want to tell him I will read it as long as he reads a book of my choice. What is a good one to give him to read that will turn him back toward Catholicism?
