Can you tell me more about "shewbread" or bread of the Presence

The CCC #2581 "For the People of God, the Temple was to be the place of their education in prayer: pilgrimages, feasts and sacrifices, the evening offering, the incense, and the bread of the Presence (“shewbread”) "

I was reading the CCC, and came across a reference to “shewbread”, or the bread of the Presence. I’ve never heard of it before. Can anyone tell me more about it, or where I can read about it in the Bible. Is it a foreshadowing of Christ’s presence in the bread of the Eucharist? Thanks.
 
You’ll read about it in Chronicles(?). It was the bread that would be in the Temple. Only the priests could eat it. There was an episode where David was running from King Saul and he came to a temple and asked the priest for it, since he claimed to be on a charge from the king. When Saul found out the priest (innocently) let David and his men have the bread, he slayed all the priest. Only one of them got away.
